trench coats

Style Spotlight : Trench coats

As the weather gets warmer in Boston I am happy to get rid of thick coats and move on to lighter layers. The perfect item and must have closet staple for slightly cool weather is the good old trench coat. I find trench coats give an instant polished look and best of all they are timeless.
Burberry is known for its beautiful trench coats but if you are like me and don’t have trust fund money or simply don’t want to spend too much you can get great trench coats from places like Zara, Macy’s or H&M.

Trench Time !

Trench Time!

I love the look of trench coats and I thought why not dedicate a post to them.Did you know that trench coats were initially adapted for use by men during the world war hence the name trench. They have since been associated with fashion and I think they are one of the things every woman should have.
The simplest way to wear trench coats is over jeans and a t-shirt.However if you are short like I am, stay away from the long ones as they will make you look shorter.
Trench coats also look great with sheath dresses and pencil skirts. To look chic try a pencil skirt, dressy blouse and a trench coat that falls to the hem of the skirt.Don’t forget heels to complete the look.
