Lantera: A Boston Luxury Apartment Community

If you are looking for a beautiful apartment community in Boston with top-notch amenities and luxurious living then Lantera probably popped up on your search list. I took a tour during their grand opening event and absolutely loved the space. Located in the Brighton neighborhood it’s the perfect place for you if you like to live near the city, universities, restaurants, the Charles River and more.

Lantera has a variety of residences starting from studios to three-bedrooms. I toured a number of their units including this good-sized one bedroom 1 bath apartment. The apartment does not feel cramped and the modern finishings, especially in the kitchen, are a plus. The kitchens include light and dark cabinet options, quartz countertops, under cabinet lighting and stainless steel appliances.

With floor to ceiling windows, balconies and walk in closets you can’t help but fall in love with the rooms. There is a clear focus on technology and good quality, elegant finishings throughout the rooms and the entire building.

One feature that is usually a deal breaker for most renters is the presence of a washer and dryer in the unit. Lantera has that covered; all apartments are energy-efficient.

you’ll fall in love with the common areas, which are comparable or even surpass some hangout spots in Boston in my opinion. In addition to a zen garden, there is an outdoor pool deck area with cabanas, fire pits, outdoor dining areas and private grilling stations. There is even an open gathering space with a fireplace lounge, bar and gaming area. For those who work from home you will love the tech bar! I would just move in for the amenities but everything else about these residences is awesome. Covered parking, fit studio, pet friendly, beautiful grounds and the fact that it’s next to a commuter rail stop are just some of the other great features Lantera provides.

With the way I am raving about this place one would think I work for them which I don’t. I just give credit when its due. This place is a gem and if you are not sure you want to live there, I suggest at least stopping by for a tour before crossing Lantera off your list.

The Godfrey Boston : Boston’s hottest hotel

I have been looking for fun things to do on Presidents day weekend which happens to be Valentines weekend too. After attending the grand opening of The Godfrey Boston hotel in downtown Boston I thought it would be a great place for a city staycation especially since I live far away in the surbubs. I fell in love with this hotel and I’m already imagining room service and walks in the city.

The contemporary decor in the Godfrey hotel is gorgeous and tastefully done. They have the most beautiful elevator entrance area that I have ever seen.
I loved this sitting area in the lobby and especially wished I could take the table home with me.
You know you are in great hotel when you see this awesome assortment of beverages in your room. Coconut water anyone?
There are 2 things I am picky about when it comes to hotels or homes that I have to sleep in, the bathroom and the linen. The Godfrey passed my test on both. The beds were made with good quality white linen and the beds felt very comfortable when we sat on them.
Don’t you wish you could move this bathroom to your house? designed with modern finishes, lush towels and great bath products I was very impressed.
So the next time you are visiting Boston I highly recommend The Godfrey Boston Hotel because they have put a lot of thought in making their guests comfortable. A great plus is that it is in the heart of Boston Downtown crossing area meaning you will have easy access to great shopping, restaurants,  Theaters and lots more.

Eating out: The Cottage Wellesley

A few weeks ago I talked about a great experience I had at the Poynt restaurant in Newburyport so when I heard the owners had another restaurant near my work I knew I had to try it. Located in Linden Square Wellesley, The Cottage Restaurant is in a prime suburban location with access to boutiques, cafe’s and more.
For appetizers we had mini crab cakes and beef tenderloin crostini. The crostini was made with whipped herbed goat cheese and a sweet onion jam which I enjoyed.
1st course was a goat cheese salad with caramelized walnuts roasted red peppers and a light balsamic vinaigrette. The salad was very simple but the walnuts really made it shine.
2nd course was lamb bolognese Rigate made with slow braised lamb. This dish was very hearty and delicious making it a great comfort meal for these cold days.
My favorite dish of the night was this delicious Chicken Milanese made with a crispy chicken cutlet, shaved fennel arugula salad, grape tomatoes lemon and thyme vinaigrette. I promise you will love this dish, just writing about is making me want to get in my car and go to have some.
Of course every meal has to end with delicious deserts. We got to sample the chocolate souffle cake, the white chocolate raspberry bread pudding and a delicious cheesecake. Yummy!
The Cottage Wellesley is only 10 miles outside Boston so if you would like to experience these delicious dishes its definitely worth the drive. Not forgetting that you can also do some shopping in the area while you are at it.

Why Newburyport, MA is a great place to visit and shop

The Poynt restaurant – Newburyport, MA : New England’s hottest brunch spot.

One of the great things about living in New England is that there are plenty of beautiful surrounding towns to visit. I remember reading an article that mentioned Newburyport as being one of the most beautiful towns in New England, so when I was invited for a day of shopping and brunch there I was very excited to finally take teh tip there.
I went with my blogger BFF Kristin and when we arrived our first stop was brunch at The Poynt a fabulous new restaurant in Newburyport. I loved the decor of the place, an interesting fact is that the interior was designed by world famous interior designer Taniya Nayak.

To say their brunch menu is great is an understatement, it is just pure deliciousness and that means a lot coming from me, one of the worlds biggest food snobs. The stuffed french toast was one of my favorites. It is stuffed with maple infused mascarpone and served with a berry compote…yum.

I also tried the Bananas Fosters Crepes which were delicious. The cinnamon whipped cream really takes the crepes to another level and the rum caramel adds a very unique and tasty flavor.

The Poynt has a in house Pizza oven which means perfect pizza all the time. I had a slice of their breakfast pizza which was another favorite menu item. The breakfast pizza has grilled potatoes, apple bacon, fontina cheese, fried eggs and creme fraiche…need I say more.

You would think after all that eating I would not have room for anything else but the greedy person in me had to order something else. I went with a smoked brisket hash which was topped with poached eggs and jalapeno barbeque hollandaise. This dish is perfect for those that need something savory and filling for brunch.

Poynt gets a Spoons and Stilettos thumbs up and if you happen to visit Newburyport I would recommend The Poynt for brunch. I plan on going back next summer with the boyfriend and cannot wait to try their dinner menu.
