Top 5 Fall trends of 2012

1.The ankle boot : Ankle boots are a fall must have . They look great with leggings, skinny jeans, short dresses and skirts. One of the easiest ways to wear black ankle boots is with black tights , this look is flattering for most body types. S and S tip: Never wear ankle boots with a long  skirt or dress, it just doesn’t work.

2.The tuxedo style blazer : I absolutely love blazers, they add an element of chic and elegance to any outfit. If you don’t own a blazer I suggest you put it on your next shopping list because it is a must have for any fashionista. This jacket can be worn formally at work with a pair of black pants and they also look great with skinny jeans and knee high boots.I love wearing mine with a pair of jeans and high heels.

3.Skinny mid rise jeans : These are a definite go to classic. I love that they are fitted from top to bottom with a slightly higher rise that is great for tucking in your tummy. You can wear them with heels or flats and they also slip right into boots with not need for folding or rolling. Need I say more.

4.The oversize clutch : While watching New york and Paris fashion week I noticed a lot of oversize clutches on the runway.Over sized clutches can be worn during the day and still manage to hold all your necessities. I find that clutches are a great way to polish a daytime look , just make sure you don’t over stuff them as it can distort the shape and design. When picking a clutch make sure you choose a bold design, texture or color because plain is just boring and doesn’t stand out. Treat your clutch as an accessory to your outfit.

5.Oxblood : One of the hottest colors this fall is ‘oxblood ‘ (check out the blazer and top above). This is a deep red color with hints of brown making it more demure than regular red. If you don’t want to go crazy with this color I suggest you pair it with black or nude. I love the look of an oxblood peplum top with black skinny jeans and high heels. This color looks great on bags and accessories too .

Introducing the colored jeans

It's time for colored jeans

I am so excited about the bright colors that are in this season so much that I had to write another post. I don’t know of any fashionista that doesn’t like jeans so why not incorporate some color into your jeans. One great way to wear colored jeans is by color blocking.
Color blocking is when you pair solid colors and bright pieces together.I know this might sound scary to those who are new to the color trend, so my suggestion is to combine pastels with pastels or bolds with bolds. An example of color blocking would be to pair a coral pair of jeans with a blue top, fab indeed!
For those that are little more daring you can try and match a pair of colored jeans with a printed top e.g one with floral prints.
So the next time you are shopping for jeans, try some thing different and grab a pair of colored jeans, you will be that chic fashionista you have always wanted to be.Happy shopping!

Thank goodness the cold weather is gone and we can say goodbye to the boring grey and black winter clothing. I am loving the spring and summer fashion this year mostly because it is filled with lots of bright colors. Dresses and skirts are still hot this season and my favorite colors are mint green and tangerine. I am also loving anything neon colored like bright yellow, orange and blue handbags and shoes.
If you are afraid of color my suggestion is to start off  by pairing a pair of bright colored jeans and a plain white tee or wearing a bright colored bag instead of a black bag.
