Picnic pleasures!

I am sad to see summer go however I love that fall is here and we can enjoy the beauty that it brings to our earth. Trees begin to change their leaves from green to red, orange and yellow before they fall creating beautiful scenery. Since fall is the transition from summer to winter the weather does get cooler but it is still warm enough to enjoy the outdoors.
One of my favorite things to do in the fall is to visit the park, have a picnic or simply taking a walk in the park. Something about being surrounded by nature brings peace to my soul and I recommend it to anyone.

Picnic time !

Are you thinking of a having a picnic and are not sure where to go or what to bring ? All you need is a picnic basket filled with goodies, a blanket and a loved one to share the experience. If you live in Boston, the Larz Anderson park in Brookline is great for picnics and the Arnold Arboretum park in Jamaica Plain is great for walking . Picnic food needs to be simple for example sandwiches, a pasta or quinoa salad, cheese, fruit and wine. Always remember to bring some water and a cool drink like fresh homemade lemonade.

Weekend recap : Weddings and glamour

This weekend the BF and I attended his cousin’s wedding and It was a beautiful experience. The bride and the groom looked amazing and it was great to be part of their special day. I chose a simple elegant purple dress paired with pewter peep toe heels.
One of my favorite outfits of the night was by my BF’s stylish cousin Shelisha, I love the way she accessorized her dress with oval earrings, a bold ring and layered bracelets.

The bride must have similar taste in flowers as me, white flowers are my favorite.
For dinner I chose sea bass served over a bed of creamy rice with zucchini and baby carrots.

Weekend diary : Parks and recreation

Last week I decided to take Thursday and Friday off  so I could have a nice long weekend. The plan was to go to the beach and relax however the weather had other plans. Scattered thunderstorms were not exactly what I envisioned for a long weekend however I still managed to make the most out of it.
I started off with attending a Style makers event at the trendy Trade restaurant in Boston. It was nice to meet  style bloggers and other people involved in the fashion industry in Boston.
From left Katherine from Style tab, Kaitlin from Love and Milkshakes, Susan from Lifestyle of a Fashionista, Amy from Good looks daily, Abbie from Fabulous life of a natural disaster and Elissa from Style wire.
On Friday night the BF and I decided  to watch a movie and since I am not a fan of Zombies and Super heroes we watched This is the end which was a hilarious comedy. Saturday was all about hanging at the park  and I have to say it was just perfect. Nothing beats being surrounded by nature in the company of a loved one. Looking forward to the next great weekend!
