Weekend diary: featuring Salmon-Shrimp patties

The past 3 weeks have been so hectic and I admit I have neglected myself a little bit. From drinking 3 cups of coffee a day to ignoring my blog, I really have been a bad girl.
Thanks to a blogger event hosted by lovely Susan from Susan Style Blog last Friday I got the boost I needed to get back on track. There is something about meeting other people with the same goals as you that is very motivating. It was a great event and I could not resist taking pictures of the beautiful views of Boston from Susan’s roof deck.
Great views and great friends
Since I went out on Friday I decided to keep the rest of the weekend laid back and nothing makes me happier than relaxing at home. Got a hair treatment on Saturday morning , took a trip to the market and ended the day with a great dinner with the BF. For dinner I made potato salad with a honey Dijon dressing and served it with salmon-shrimp patties, sauteed green beans and baby corn. See below for my Salmon-shrimp patties recipe.
Ingredients

12 ounces fresh salmon
8 large shrimps peeled and deveined
2 cloves garlic minced
1 1/2 tbs finely chopped green bell pepper
3 tbsp finely chopped onion
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 tsp old bay seasoning
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
2/3 cup panko breadcrumbs
1small egg
salt and pepper to taste
Directions

  • grind salmon and shrimp in a food processor. Make sure not to over process as you will need some  small chunks to create some texture.
  • In a large bowl mix the salmon and shrimp with the rest of the ingredients. Shape into 4 patties and chill in the refrigerator for a few minutes so they don’t fall apart.
  • Cook in a griddle pan for about 3 minutes on each side or until cooked. Serve with a salad or use for burgers.

Weekend diary: Boston Bloggers Style Summit

I cannot believe April is almost over and summer is around the corner. One thing I love about New England weather is that we have different seasons to look forward to. Each new season means new outfits!
I had the pleasure of attending the Blog Better Boston Style Summit on Saturday and I have to say it was the best way to end the month. The event was for style and fashion bloggers so I got to meet a lot of stylish Bostonians who inspired me in so many ways.
Me, in a coral chevron shift dress and turquoise bubble necklace .

The day was packed with informative discussions from popular bloggers and fun activities including a fashion hunt sponsored by Lulus.com. They also had a rack of gorgeous outfits and jewelry that you could win after participating. I am definitely in love with Lulu’s stuff.

It was also great to meet popular bloggers like Kristen from the Boston Fashionista and some Boston blogger friends including Georgina from Notes on Lifestyle, Elissa from Style wire and lots more. I am always impressed by the friendliness of Boston bloggers.

I loved the cute little pink and lime cupcakes that were served in the end, so yummy and colorful!

Bona Clara Launch Party

I had the privilege of being invited to the launch of a Boston based beauty line ‘Bona Clara‘ this past Wednesday. I have to say I was completely blown away by their products, from their age specific lines to their packaging.
Founded by Jasmina Aganovic an MIT Bio-Chemical Engineer, this product is backed by powerful science and is made of natural ingredients with no harsh chemicals. Need I say more!

See below for more about this fabulous event.

Had the pleasure of chatting with the founder of the brand , Bona Clara employees and lots of other lovely people.
One thing I love most about this brand  are their age specific lines. They  have  lines for each age group meaning that your skin is getting the care it needs for your age.

If you would like to try the brand they have mini try me sets that you can buy to try the product. These mini sets are perfect for travel or little gifts.
As an advocate of sun protection , I fell in love with their SPF 29  fluid. It is ultra light and can be used with a facial cream which is a plus.
Loved the make up remover
Was happy to walk away with a sample of the SPF 29 fluid and other goodies. Cant wait to try  more of their products.
