Boston Restaurants

Good Eats Boston: by Chloe

If you live in Boston you have probably heard the buzz about by Chloe, a vegan fast casual spot which serves delicious and wholesome plant based food. I recently visited the restaurant for the first time and I am hooked. I am by no means a vegan but I eat plenty of meatless meals so this place is up my alley. You know the place is on fire if a non-vegan like myself is into it. Even the Fiancé gave it a thumbs up.

When you hear vegan restaurant, you are probably thinking healthy and boring but by Chloe is far from that. Their menu includes bountiful salads, juicy burgers, breakfast and brunch foods like quinoa hash browns, smoothie bowls and pancakes. It’s a vegan menu that anyone will enjoy.

I am especially excited for their spring 2018 menu specials which includes the items below; available now through March 31st 2018 before new additions arrive.

Since arriving in Boston in 2017 By Chloe has become a Boston favorite and its only fitting that it joins the Good Eats Boston list. They already have 2 locations in the Boston area with a fab new location opening up in Back bay this summer. You can visit the by Chloe website to learn more about their story and menu items.

Good Eats Boston: Grainmaker

Good Eats Boston: Grainmaker

With the fast casual restaurant scene booming in recent years its no surprise that my first good eats boston experience of 2018 is at Grainmaker, a fab fast casual dining spot in Boston. What drew me to the restaurant is their innovative menu with South East Asian influences, which I absolutely love.

The ordering process is like most fast casual spots where you build your bowl. The veggie selection is pretty awesome including delicious string beans, zucchini and my favorite wok fried seasonal greens. I thoroughly enjoyed selecting my garnishes from many choices including a cabbage slaw, fresh cilantro, scallions, pickled veggies and more.  Grainmaker also offers some popular street fare like Banh mi sandwiches and street tacos. There is definitely something for everyone.

Good Eats Boston: Grainmaker

The restaurant is conveniently located in the Boston’s Downtown crossing area and is steps away from major subway stations. I highly recommend this place for your next lunch stop for excellent food flavors and healthy food choices.

Location: Boston –  91 Summer St., Boston, MA 02110

Good Eats Boston: Kane’s Donuts

Who doesn’t love donuts? Donuts may literally one of the best treats in the world. I have never refused a donut; it’s just impossible. Anyway before I delve into my love of donuts lets talk about this week’s good eats boston feature. The Farmer Willie’s Craft Ginger Beer Donut and the Privateer Eggnog Donut from Kane’s Donuts.

Kane’s Donuts is always creating fun donut flavors and this holiday is no exception. They partnered with Farmer Willie’s Alcoholic Ginger Beer and Privateer Rum to create the two holiday inspired limited edition donuts. These donuts are not alcoholic, as the alcohol burns off during the cooking process. The alcohol is part of the flavor creation process which results in a deliciously flavored donut.

Good Eats Boston: Kane's Donuts

Kane’s Privateer Eggnog Donut: A cake style donut made with Pure Country Eggnog and Privateer Silver Reserve Rum, and loaded with freshly ground nutmeg then dipped in Kane’s signature honey glaze. I mean seriously, how good does that sound.

Good Eats Boston: Kane's Donuts

Farmer Willie’s Ginger Beer Donut: a handcrafted cake style gingerbread donut dunked in a glaze made from Farmer Willie’s recently released Extra Ginger flavor that is made with additional ginger and a touch of cayenne. It is  topped with Kane’s signature honey glaze made from local honey.

More from Kane’s Donuts:

For the month of December, Kane’s is also featuring the Kane’s Chocolate Candy Donut, which is a rich chocolate cake style donut with a creamy cool peppermint frosting then topped with crushed candy canes. Their monthly Gluten Free option is a Chocolate Coconut Gluten Free Donut, a gluten-free cake style chocolate donut dipped in Kane’s signature honey glaze then rolled in shredded coconut. There is a December cupcake which is the Winter Dream Cupcake, a rich devil’s food chocolate cupcake with a cream cheese frosting festively decorated

These donut creations will be available through the month of December at both Kane’s Handcrafted Donuts locations: 120 Lincoln Avenue in Saugus and 90 Oliver Street in Boston’s Financial District. Let me know how you like the donuts if you make it there!
