Styling in White after labor day

Last Saturday we had a semi warm day in Boston so I was happy to wear some light layers and meet up with my stylish blogger friend Kristin for another shoot in the park. My outfit choice was blue jeans, an off white blazer and nude heels. This outfit goes with the bring elegance back movement that I started recently. Wearing plain blue jeans instead of ripped jeans or a blazer instead of a bomber jacket is what brings elegance to this look.

Out and about: Oxford heels and denim

What do you wear when you have to get on a boat on a cool fall day? That was the question I asked myself when I was invited for a blogger cruise along the Charles River. I still don’t know the answer to the question but I decided to keep it simple in jeans, oxford shoes and a blazer. This somewhat preppy look is my go to when my creative juices are not flowing. Perhaps next time I could wear it with a camel jacket but I was happy with how the outfit turned out.

1 simple way to layer with stripes this fall

Yesterday was the first day of fall which is bittersweet as I am going to miss the warm sunny days but at the same time I am looking forward to fall fashion. Fall means layering and what better way to start than with this fab striped dress. I have heard about stripe on stripe layering but I say the best way to layer with stripes is with a bold color. Doing this creates a clean and elegant look. I paired this black and white striped dress with a black blazer and black heels.

A touch of leopard

I am so glad to have met a blogger who lives near me, is down to earth and likes the same things I do. Kristin has been showing me around and thanks to another beautiful day in Boston this weekend we decided to venture out to the bird park. I knew we were a match made in heaven when we both showed up in leopard print flats.
Leopard prints were all over the spring fashion runways which is a little unusual as leopard screams fall rather than spring. No complaints here, I will jump at any chance to wear animal print.
The key to wearing leopard print is moderation, you don’t want to be in leopard from top to bottom. A touch of leopard is all you need. I find leopard flats are a great way to incorporate this print to my look.

Black, mustard and gold

I am so excited that I finally got to wear an outfit that did not involve socks, gloves or 3 layers of clothing this week. I am sure any fashionista out there would agree that the best part about spring is the fact that we can finally bring out our fave heels and flats.
I am a serious blazer addict and my favorite blazer is this mustard colored piece I got from my stylish sister. This color may seem intimidating but when paired with a simple color like black or white it mellows out. I wore mine with gold jewelry and black skinnies for a super chic look.
Would you wear a colored blazer?
