I finally went to the popular Pauli’s sandwich shop in Boston and I totally get what the fuss is about. This place is awesome and it is an easy choice for this week’s good eat’s Boston feature. What I love about Pauli’s is that there is nothing pretentious about it, just super good food and excellent service.
The restaurant is small but with enough room to fill a decent amount of people. I went there on Saturday afternoon around 2:30 pm and it was pretty packed which is a good sign. I was with my hubby who ordered the lobster roll and I ordered the Skinny Vinny Sandwich. If you love seafood you cannot visit Pauli’s without trying their famous lobster roll. You have the option to have it warm or cold. We prefer the warm version most of the time so we chose to have it warm. It was absolutely delicious even my husband who grew up around great seafood said it was really good which says a lot.
The Skinny Vinny Sandwich which is made with eggplant, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers & pesto sauce is delicious. I am always worried when I order eggplant because some restaurants mess it up but this one was perfectly crisp on the outside and well seasoned. We loved the Skinny Vinny sandwich so much we decided to order the salad version for take-out. Similar to the sandwich the salad includes mixed greens, red onion, grape tomato, cucumber, green pepper, eggplant, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers and a house made basil pesto sauce is amazing.
So the next time you are in Boston, head over to Pauli’s and try one of their delicious sandwiches, Salads or wraps. I promise you will not be disappointed. I feel like it is a stop everyone should make when they visit Boston. I plan on going back to try their fish and chips and clam chowder.
Pauli’s is located in Boston’s buzzing North End district and is easily accessible on the subway if you not driving.
