Easy Dinners: Nola’s authentic Mexican Salsa

Finding fresh authentic Mexican style salsa in the grocery store can be a little tricky but since I tried Nola’s salsa my search for good salsa is over. Nola’s is by far the most authentic tasting store bought salsa that I have had. Now you are probably thinking why not just make your own salsa Agnes. 90 percent of the time I like to make my own but there are times when time and energy is limited like  those days when you get home late from work and need a quick meal.

Easy Dinners: Nola's authentic style salsaEasy Dinners: Nola's authentic Mexican SalsaNola’s has 2 awesome salsa flavors, Salsa Fresca which is a traditional tomato-based raw blended salsa and the Roasted corn and Black Bean salsa which is rich and full of flavor. The popular choice when making seafood would be the Salsa Fresca which is great but I personally like the combination of corn and beans with fish. I swear, if you try this combo with some avocado you will have some out of this world culinary Aha! moment.  Easy Dinners: Nola's authentic Mexican SalsaThis meal was very simple to prepare. I arrived home 7pm, placed the rice in the Instant pot, seasoned the fish, blanched and sautéed the green beans and pan seared the fish and served with the corn and black bean salsa all by 7:30. In addition to being absolutely easy it is a very tasty dish.

5 fun Ways to use Salsa

  1. Toast whole grain bread and top with mashed avocado and salsa for scrumptious avocado toast.
  2. Mix cooked pasta with salsa instead of regular tomato sauce for a zesty pasta dish.
  3. Add to frittata’s, scrambled eggs and omelets.
  4. Use as a cocktail sauce for shrimp.
  5. Add zing to otherwise plain boring rice by mixing in salsa into the cooked rice.
