Style Spotlight: Black off shoulder jumpsuit

It sure has not been feeling like fall the past few days here in Boston. Some days are 75 degrees which is very unusual this time of year. Some people are not really happy about this but I say bring on the sunshine. As much as I like fall, I still prefer warm weather.

This Black off shoulder jumpsuit that I got from Gozon is perfect for this transitional weather. I love that the shoulder can be worn in different ways, all the way down, on the side and as a regular top. Throw on a denim jacket when it gets cooler and you are all set and looking fab.

Royal Blue Jumpsuit : Fall Fashion

Woo hoo! Fall Fashion is upon us and I am starting with this Royal Blue Jumpsuit as my first summer to fall transition outfit. I seriously think Fall fashion is the best because you get mix different textures and you get to be creative with layers. Jumpsuits are a great way to dress for those days when it’s not too hot or too cold. I especially love this elegant jumpsuit, perfect for work or a night out.

I paired the royal blue jumpsuit with my favorite black strappy heels and accessorized it with a big gold bracelet and a dainty necklace. I felt It did not need too much accessorizing as it is a very elegant look.

For those of you who love the look of jumpsuits but are not sure if it’s the right choice for them, don’t worry I got some reasons why you should think about getting one below.

4 Reasons why you should own a jumpsuit

  1. They are easy to style: With a jumpsuit you don’t have to worry about a matching top or bottom because it’s all in one.
  2. They are very flattering: If the right fit and size is selected jumpsuits can be super flattering especially since most of the styles come with a belt or some sort of waist defining shape.
  3. They are very stylish: When I see someone dressed in a jumpsuit they always look so chic and fabulous. Something about that one piece screams fashionista.
  4. They can be dressed up or down: This particular one I am wearing today is more on the dressy side but you can find some comfy cotton ones that you can wear during the weekend or on chilled out days.

All about the jumpsuit

Its officially summer but we are still experiencing some chilly weather in addition to heavy rain in Boston. I am still not complaining because after the winter we just had, a little rain is fine. The only annoying thing is having to wait to wear all my summer dresses. I currently have an obsession with jumpsuits and what better way to dress for a cool summer day than a long jumpsuit.
Jumpsuits aka Rompers are great for those times when you want an effortless yet stylish look. I find them to be a convenient outfit choice as you don’t have to worry about what to wear at the top or bottom. This army green jumpsuit is from Forever 21, think I paid 25 bucks for it! I paired the jumpsuit with some gold and black heels for a slightly dressy look. Don’t ask me what I was doing in the woods all dressed up though.
Are you into the jumpsuit trend ? Would love to hear your thoughts

Style Spotlight: Blue Floral Embroidery Dress

What do people say about your style? Are you usually dressed in black or are you the one in vibrant colors all the time. I am definitely the black clothes kinda girl but I have been making a conscious effort to add more color to my closet. Colors can brighten your mood and make you more approachable from what I have read. I have certainly noticed the difference color makes which is why I am rocking this Blue floral embroidery dress today.

This floral embroidery dress which I chose from Gozon, a clothing website that I am currently obsessed with comes in black and blue. I was very proud of myself for choosing the blue color which is pretty groundbreaking on my part. Blue tends to go well with dark and olive skin tones and I loved that it blended well with my skin. People who also look good in blue are brunettes however most people can rock this color.

One of my favorite things about this dress is floral embroidery detail. It almost reminds me of some beautiful African designs that we used see a lot back home. The fact that it is a bodycon dress and features off shoulder, a short sleeve and a left side slit makes it very flattering and perfect for a summer date night.

Speaking of the off shoulder look I am sure you have seen so many bare shoulders out there and wondering if this trend is still hot. Well it still is and because I loved the off shoulder style of this dress I figured I should share some tips on pulling this look off.

3 Tips to pulling  off the off shoulder look.

  1. Invest in a good strapless bra: Yes, I know they are not the most comfortable bras to wear but they are absolutely necessary for an off shoulder dress or top. Straps showing on a off shoulder dress is a big no!
  2. Make sure the elastic is tight: If you are going to be very active or will be moving your hands a lot, then you definitely want to make sure the elastic is tight and will not let the sleeves fall completely off your shoulders. I have heard of horror stories where a girls off shoulder dress just completely slipped off.
  3. Keep it stylish: Off shoulder tops look great with high waisted pants and the dresses look great with flat summer scandals. If you are going for a more fitted style like the bodycon dress I have on then you want to pair it with some fab heels.

Still not sure about blue, check out my Royal Blue Jumpsuit post and tell me what you think. I would also love to know your thoughts on the off shoulder look, do you like it or despise it?

Thank you to Gozon for partnering on this post
