Ever have days when you are craving chocolate, pizza or ice cream ? Well, you are not alone. As much as I am a health nut, every once in a while I crave something cheesy or sweet. Yesterday I was craving a grilled cheese sandwich all day so I made one for dinner.
I believe that deprivation is never the answer to a happy life , so if you are craving that piece of chocolate go ahead and grab it. The important thing is moderation, just make sure you don't do it everyday and stick to healthy eating 90% of the time.
|Spoons and Stilettos: Easy grilled cheese sandwich.|
2 slices wholewheat or white bread
1 tbsp butter
2 tsp chopped red onion
1 slice provolone cheese
1 thin slice Swiss cheese
1 thin slice ham
1/4 tsp minced fresh garlic (optional)
- Place small skillet on burner over medium heat until hot.
- Spread butter on each slice of bread then place 1 slice in the skillet making sure the buttered side is down.
- Quickly place a slice of the provolone cheese on top of the slice of bread then top with onion and garlic. Place slice of ham over onion followed by Swiss cheese then top with the other slice of bread. Make sure buttered side is facing up.
- After a minute or when the first side of bread is browned , flip the sandwich and brown the other side for another minute or until it is cooked to your satisfaction.
